Configuring YAM v1.3.5

Marcel Beck has put together a fantastic freeware email program for the Amiga called YAM - Yet Another Mailer. You can get more information from the YAM Official Support website.

Minimum requirements for v1.3.5 are:

  • Any Amiga computer with 1MB of RAM
  • AmigaOS v2.0 minimum, v3.1/3.5 recommended
  • Magic User Interface v3.3 or better

Customize these instructions for the following email address:

  1. Download and extract the YAM v1.3.5 archive. Open the installation drawer and run the approriate installation script. During installtion select the CPU you'll be using for this program.
    NOTE that v1.3.5 should only be used for systems that have only a 68000 CPU. YAM v2 is preferred for systems with a 68020 and better or PowerPC CPU.
  2. Main YAM window
    This is YAM's main window. Select "Configure" from the drop-down menus, or press Right-Amiga C.

  3. User information
    Real name: (your name or company name)
    Email address: yourlogin@nettally.com
    POP3Server: pop3.nettally.com
    Password: (your password -- this is CaSe SeNsItIvE)

  4. Receiving email
    POP3 User ID: (your login -- normally the part before the @ symbol in your email address)
    Set other optional receive options. Hold the mouse over the option selection box for more information on each option, or press the HELP key for full information.

    SMTP server: smtp.nettally.com (if you connect to the internet through us)
    Click Save.
